Bouwinvest’s Dutch Retail Fund has signed a long-term agreement with Dutch jewellery chain Schaap & Citroen Juweliers for the lease of retail space in the centre of Eindhoven in the southern Netherlands. The 492 m² retail unit with a ground floor and basement is located on Demer 48 on one of the busiest retail intersections in the city centre.

The new store will supplement the jewellery chain’s existing premises on Demer 43-45.

Mark van Nieuwkerk, CEO Schaap & Citroen Juweliers, said: "Eindhoven is one of the Netherlands' fastest growing regions and  now is a perfect time to expand our presence and offer customers the best selection of premium watch brands available in this region. Our new store will provide a platform for the world’s leading watch makers including Omega, IWC, Cartier Hublot, Breitling, Panerai, Tag Heuer, Tudor and Longines. Our new store will also enable us to give maximum visibility to Rolex and Pomellato as well as our extensive jewellery collection at our existing premises on Demer 43-45. This split display at these two locations will enable us to offer optimal service to our customers in Eindhoven and the surrounding area.”

The two new store formats will be opened in spring 2023.

The new lease that Bouwinvest’s Retail Fund has signed with Schaap & Citroen at Dember 48 demonstrates the appeal of Eindhoven's city centre. The Fund’s properties here are all located prominently on the busiest shopping streets. Footfall is also expected to increase further in the area following the completion of developments on 18 Septemberplein and the adjacent station area.

Colliers represented Bouwinvest’s Dutch Institutional Retail Fund in the lease transaction and is also responsible for the asset management of these stores and the Fund’s other retail properties in Eindhoven. City Real Estate acted on behalf of Schaap & Citroen.
