The Responsible Investment Awards recognise real estate investors who are leaders in making individual buildings or entire real estate portfolios more sustainable. Various criteria are taken into consideration during the decision-making process including the percentage of properties with BREEAM certification, the GRESB score as a measure of ESG performance and the investment manager's commitment to sustainability.

Bouwinvest’s Dutch Office Fund aims to provide inspiring places where people like to work and meet, with a strong focus on flexibility and sustainability to make them future-proof. The Fund invests in greening and optimising the existing portfolio and developing sustainable new properties. This strategy is based on our conviction that sustainable buildings generate a stable return and retain their value and thus remain attractive as an investment. These assets also contribute to our social goal of making the built environment more sustainable.

Bernardo Korenberg: "This award is a great recognition of our sustainability strategy and proves we are on the right track. We will continue our efforts to create a Paris Proof portfolio – one that is almost energy-neutral and no longer reliant on natural gas by 2045 at the latest - in cooperation with our partners and tenants. The only way we can make our buildings even more energy-efficient is by working together with them. We constantly strive to generate both social and financial returns for our clients as part of our goal to create 'Real value for life', and we see that both our existing and new investors value our efforts on this front."
