“The current crisis puts affordability more in the spotlight”

Michiel de Bruine, Director Dutch Residential Investments, joined a panel during the online Canadian Apartments Conference 2020. He provided an international perspective on the impact of the pandemic on residential investments: “For us, the current crisis puts affordability more in the spotlight. During this pandemic we have seen that affordable homes are even lower on the risk curve, with almost no vacancy.”

“We have to look and invest through the crisis. We continue to invest in the Netherlands, but also abroad. Recently we launched a joint venture with Ivanhoe Cambridge and Greystar to invest in affordable housing for students and young professionals,” Michiel said.
