The Bouwinvest Retail Fund has leased approximately 185 m2 of retail space in the Heyhoef Shopping Centre in the southern Dutch town of Tilburg. A former retail unit of ING Bank has been split into two stores, for which long-term lease agreements have been agreed with LeuQ Fashionstores and Volksbank, a branch of SNS Bank.

LeuQ was previously located on the Ketelhavenplein opposite Reeshof railway station in Tilburg. After a minor renovation, LeuQ opened the doors of its new store on the 22nd of August. SNS Bank will open its new branch store to the public in the final quarter of this year.

The Heyhoef shopping centre comprises a total of approximately 15,000 m2 of retail space, with over more than 50 retail units, including supermarkets Jumbo, Plus and Lidl, as well as HEMA, Hunkemöller, Etos, Shoeby and Durlinger. Various local businesses, restaurants, cafes and fresh food stores are also located in the Heyhoef.

The Bouwinvest Retail Fund invests long term in the Dutch retail market on behalf of institutional investors. The fund has a clear investment strategy focusing on three pillars: attractive market segments, portfolio optimisation and sustainability improvements. The fund focuses on the best retail destinations and busiest high streets (Experience) as well as supermarket-anchored neighbourhood shopping centres for daily purchases (Convenience). The fund aims to increase its assets under management to € 1.1 billion by 2022. The vehicle is one of the most sustainable retail funds in the Netherlands, with a 4-star GRESB rating.
