The UN Principles for Responsible Investment (UN PRI) organisation has informed Bouwinvest that it has twice received the highest possible score (A+) for its 2019 corporate review. Bouwinvest was awarded the top scores for the ‘strategy and management’ section of its Responsible Investment Policy and its ‘real estate’ module.

Bouwinvest aims to generate a sound return on sustainable real estate investments for institutional investors and their stakeholders. We invest for the long term and do this in a responsible manner by taking environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria into account in all our investment decisions. In this way, we create added value for our shareholders, future-proof real estate investments and ensure sustainable long-term returns.

The maximum scores for both sections illustrate the strategic importance we attach to responsible investment and ESG integration and show that we also put this into practice. Bouwinvest has been a signatory to PRI since 2018, but has been active for much longer in responsible investment. This is the first time that Bouwinvest has taken part in the benchmark survey and the result is an acknowledgment that we perform above the market average in an international context.

About the PRI initiative
PRI is the world’s leading advocate for sustainable investment. The network was founded in 2005 and aims to create a better understanding of the investment implications of environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors and supports its international signatories in integrating these factors in their investment and ownership decisions. Signatories contribute to the development of a more sustainable and transparent financial system and the ongoing development of sustainable investment. PRI is completely independent.
