The Bouwinvest Retail Fund has been named the best performing specialist real estate fund in the Netherlands by market analysts MSCI. The Retail Fund achieved the highest total return compared with the MSCI Dutch sector benchmark over three years, up to and including December 2018.

The Fund receives the ‘MSCI European Property Investment Award for best performing specialist fund in the Dutch market,’ after achieving a total return of 8.1% over the past three years, which is an outperformance of 3.2% compared with the sector benchmark.

In a very challenging market we have been able to create a solid portfolio of outstanding retail assets that has outperformed every other Dutch real estate fund measured by the MSCI market benchmark.”

The Bouwinvest Retail Fund is open to institutional investors and focuses on the best High Streets and local convenience shopping centres catering to daily needs. At the end of 2018, the total invested capital in the fund was € 1.0 billion and it booked a total annual property return of 7.0%. The fund is one of the most sustainable Dutch retail real estate vehicles, with a high 4 stars ranking from the GRESB sustainability rating agency.
