The Bouwinvest Dutch Residential Fund has acquired 115 apartments from developer Bébouw Midreth in the ‘De Open Veste’ project in Purmerend, 20 km north of Amsterdam. The majority of the homes will be priced at mid-market rental levels.

Kop West is a development area situated directly to the west of the centre of Purmerend and is the future location for around 600 new homes. The apartments in the project differ in size, to attract a  diversity of target social groups, and a large proportion will be priced at mid-market rental levels, for which there is relatively high demand in Purmerend. Bouwinvest previously acquired 74 rental units in the same development area.

Michiel de Bruine, Bouwinvest Director of Dutch Residential Investments, said: “We see high demand for medium-sized rental units across the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area and Project Kop West F is our latest response to this market need. These homes are in an excellent location, adjacent to the centre of Purmerend and with good transport connections to the city of Amsterdam.”

Ralf Dressel, director of Bébouw Midreth, said: “It was a pleasure to work on the De Open Veste plan. The 115 rental apartments for Bouwinvest offer a great addition to homes in the mid-market segment. In De Open Veste residents will live in a gated community, surrounded by nature and water and close to all amenities.”

The completion of the project is expected in the second quarter of 2022.
