Bouwinvest has signed a portfolio deal with developer VanWonen at the PROVADA Dutch real estate trade fair, for the acquisition of 136 homes in four projects spread across the cities of Groningen, Apeldoorn, and Arnhem for its Residential Fund. Bouwinvest Development sold two land positions in Zwolle and Groningen to VanWonen.

Michiel de Bruine, Director of Dutch Residential Investments, at Bouwinvest, said:"These five cities share similar attractive residential investment characteristics with a shortage of supply in the free rental-market sector and positive local economy and demographic growth trends. Our portfolio deal with VanWonen will also allow the Residential Fund to benefit from the geographic and rental sector diversification available between the individual centres  that all fit within our core market target parameters.”

Groningen (180 km northeast of Amsterdam)

The Bouwinvest Residential Fund takes over two projects from VanWonen in the Ebbingekwartier area in the heart of the city. A total of 59 apartments are expected to be delivered in the second and fourth quarter of 2020.

VanWonen takes over a land position from Bouwinvest Development in Meerstad near Groningen.

Apeldoorn (80 km east of Amsterdam)

The Fund is building 41 single-family homes in the Zonnehoeve district, just outside the city centre of Apeldoorn, which can be reached by bike within 10 minutes. The close proximity of the A50 highway and the Apeldoorn De Maten railway station makes the area highly accessible. Delivery of the project is scheduled for the second quarter of 2019.

Arnhem (100 km southeast of Amsterdam)

The Velperparc project is a redevelopment of part of the former AKZO chemicals site, which is situated on the Velperweg in the north of Arnhem. The Residental Fund will realise an investment in 36 apartments located within a 10-minute bike ride to the city centre. The project is expected to be finished in the fourth quarter of 2019.

Zwolle (100 km east of Amsterdam)

In Breezicht, a new residential district of the city of Zwolle, VanWonen will acquire a substantial proportion of the available development rights. Breezicht will be a green sustainable neighborhood in Stadshagen, which is earmarked as the next main development area within  Zwolle, making VanWonen the largest developer delivering this plan.
