The Bouwinvest Dutch Institutional Retail Fund has acquired a substantial part of Kerschoten shopping centre in Apeldoorn-Noord. This new acquisition consists of six retail units, including two full service supermarkets, and strengthens the Retail Fund's portfolio in the convenience retail segment.

The shopping centre is located in the Kerschoten district and is recently redeveloped and extended. The centre has a total gross floor area of approximately 4,200 m². The retail units all have A energy labels and are gas-free. The investment joins Bouwinvest’s existing properties in Apeldoorn, including the 't Fort shopping centre and two retail properties on Hoogstraat.

Strong sector

The shopping centre’s tenants include Trekpleister, Blokker, and Plus and Deka supermarkets. “The convenience market has been growing steadily for many years and proved to be a strong sector even during the pandemic,” said Christian Schouten, Head of Dutch Transaction Management at Bouwinvest. “The acquisition of this new asset is a perfect fit with our objectives and strengthens our position in the Dutch retail market.”
