Bouwinvest REIM wins international BREEAM/GRESB Award for Responsible and Sustainable Investing Dutch Real Estate Investment Manager Bouwinvest received an award for its efforts in responsible and sustainable investing in real estate at the BREEAM Award festival 2017 on March 7th in London. The award is part of a new category that resulted from a cooperation between BREEAM and GRESB and recognises real estate investors internationally that have played a leading role in implementing sustainability accreditation across their portfolio assets.

Dutch Real Estate Investment Manager Bouwinvest received an award for its efforts in responsible and sustainable investing in real estate at the BREEAM Award festival 2017 on March 7th in London. The award is part of a new category that resulted from a cooperation between BREEAM and GRESB and recognises real estate investors internationally that have played a leading role in implementing sustainability accreditation across their portfolio assets.     

The criteria for the award are based on the percentage of the total portfolio which has been certified with widely recognised sustainability certificates. In addition, the level of effort made to implement sustainability measures throughout the portfolio and the corporate commitment to achieve higher goals were also considered.    

Bernardo Korenberg, Corporate Social Responsibility manager at Bouwinvest said: “This new international award is a confirmation for Bouwinvest that we have engaged on the right path and that the efforts of the last few years are now paying off. We will continue to actively seek out further possibilities to implement sustainability measures in the future.”

Earlier this year the World Trade Center The Hague, owned by the Bouwinvest Office Fund, was the first multi-tenant building in the Netherlands to receive a BREEAM-NL In-Use Excellent sustainability certification. The latest award has lifted Bouwinvest’s domestic reputation as a responsible and sustainable real estate investor into the international arena.
