Bouwinvest REIM has appointed Carolien Gehrels to its Supervisory Board with immediate effect to replace Marjanne Sint, who left in May after her directorship reached its maximum term.

Gehrels, 47, is currently European Director for Large Urban Clients at Arcadis, where she is the City Executive for Amsterdam and Rotterdam. Gehrels served as an Alderperson on Amsterdam City Council from 2006 until the mid-2014 municipal elections.

Cees Beuving, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, said: “Carolien Gehrels brings to the team a broad network in the Netherlands and considerable experience of working in political circles and with public administrations. She understands the challenges and special dynamics of pension funds and has a great overview of urban agglomerations and their real estate.We thank Marjanne Smit for the many years of enormous dedication and enthusiasm that she devoted to Bouwinvest”.
