Jos van Oort has joined Dutch real estate investment manager Bouwinvest as Acquisition Manager for Commercial Property where he will be responsible for the acquisition and disposition activities of the Bouwinvest Office Fund.

Van Oort (35) previously held a managerial position at EY Real Estate Advisory Services and before that was Investment Manager at Valad Europe. In his new role at Bouwinvest he will focus on optimising the performance of the Office Fund through strategic investments and sales.

The Bouwinvest Office Fund has a core investment style with an unleveraged target return of 7.0% and focuses on multi-use office assets in prime locations in the Netherlands. The portfolio team also seeks to identify those assets incorporating the flexibility to be adapted to changing working practices and so provide a hedge against future obsolescence.

The fund, managed by Bas Jochims, Head of Asset Management Offices, was recognised for the second time in the IPD European Property Investment Awards 2014 and also outperformed the IPD Dutch office performance benchmark for the fourth consecutive year.

With Van Oort joining the team, colleague Martijn Bremmer, also Acquisition Manager Commercial Property, will focus on the acquisition and disposition activities of the Bouwinvest Retail Fund.
