Dutch real estate investment manager Bouwinvest has appointed Boy Wesel (1976) as Manager Strategic Partnerships. In his new role Wesel will promote cooperation in urban development between Bouwinvest’s various stakeholders in the Netherlands.

His appointment will strengthen Bouwinvest’s ability to work closely with municipalities and housing corporations to deepen strategic relationships with these key partners.

Boy Wesel, Manager Strategic Partnerships at Bouwinvest said: “Urbanisation and its social consequences are being felt every day in Dutch cities. As one of the largest real estate investment managers in the Netherlands, it is our duty to make a positive contribution to these developments by working closely together with our partners and stakeholders”.

Dick van Hal, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Bouwinvest said: “Boy brings with him a wealth of experience in urban development, real estate investment and project development, and is a valuable addition to our team. Having worked with many stakeholders in the industry, he is the ideal candidate to further develop relationships with our partners.”

Wesel previously worked at engineering consultancy firm Sweco where he advised institutional investors on various area developments. He also managed institutional portfolios. Prior to that, he was a planning economist and financial engineer at Sweco. After graduating with a masters degree in City Development at Erasmus University Rotterdam, he was responsible at real estate and area developer AM for strategic advice on the development, realisation and risk management for project and area development.
