Dutch institutional real estate investment manager Bouwinvest REIM has appointed Gerald Warmerdam and Jaap Landkroon to strengthen its investor relations team and service the increasing number of institutional investors investing in its funds.

Gerald Warmerdam joins Bouwinvest as a strategic investment advisor and within that role will mainly focus on managing the bpfBOUW account, with responsibility for its real estate investment plan. He has over 10 years of experience in the real estate sector, having worked for Dutch insurers Delta Lloyd and Achmea, where he was responsible for account management for pension funds and insurance companies. In his last position at Delta Lloyd, he was active in indirect real estate portfolios and the group’s Real Estate Investment Strategy 2020 plan.

Jaap Landkroon assumes the role of relationship manager for institutional clients and will be responsible for servicing relationships with existing investors and new business development for Bouwinvest’s three Dutch sector funds. He has worked at Bouwinvest since June 2008 as an asset manager for the Residential Fund. Prior to that, he worked at ING Real Estate Finance as account manager and at ING Investment Management.

Karen Huizer, Manager Investor Relations at Bouwinvest, said: “Bouwinvest is attracting a growing number of third party institutional investors to its Dutch market funds. These mandates are on top of increased allocations from our parent investor bpfBOUW, the Dutch Construction Workers Pension.  We know there is far more capital in the pipeline, with real estate as an asset class and the Netherlands in particular near the top of institutional investors target lists, so Gerald and Jaap, with their experience in investor relations, are a very welcome addition to the team.”
